ONE of the typical dishes of the most famous Makassar is coto / soup. This is a soup with ingredients consisting of colon, liver, brain, and heart of cows.

All this material is cooked with spices lemongrass, galangal, coriander, cumin, onion, garlic, salt-paste, bay leaf, orange juice, and nuts. In general, Coto Makassar presented with a diamond or it could be a purebred. Coto Makassar most delicious eaten with chili and lime juice

Still gravy dishes, there are also soups konro. Blackish brown gravy dishes are also commonly eaten with rice cake. Dark color comes from Kluwek Soup. Spice this soup is relatively "strong" because of the use of coriander. The contents of Soup Konro is cow or buffalo ribs and cooked or baked with spices coriander, cumin, lemon grass, shallots, garlic, and salt that has been refined.

Makassar is also renowned cuisine is Saudara Soup. This dish consists of soup broth with basic ingredients such as beef or buffalo meat cooked with various spices and served with white rice or rice cake with grilled fish as an additional.

There is also Kapurung, foods derived from Luwu, Palopo. Made from compressed sago mixed with a sauce prepared with spices that produce incredible taste sensation


For drinks, besides ice Palu Butung, there is also ice green bananas. Made from banana king, wrapped in wheat flour that has been given a coconut milk and pandan leaves water as the dye plus fragrances that are green. This menu is served with a sauce that was shaved ice and syrup.
